Neem oil : 2 tablespoons

Procedure:

  • Leave it on for about half an hour.
  • Rinse it off with a shampoo.

Neem oil massage with carrier oil

In this case, we use Almond oil so that the nutrition of the Almond oil adds to the health of the hair along with the benefits that Neem oil has to offer.   • Neem oil : 2 teaspoons
  • Almond oil : 2 table spoons

Procedure:

  • Take the Almond oil and heat it to optimum temperatures.

  • Apply this mixture of oils over your hair with a cotton ball along with your scalp.

  • Take a cup-full of the shampoo that you would be using on your hair.
  • Add about two teaspoons of Neem oil to it and mix it thoroughly.
  • Dilute this shampoo and then apply it over your hair and rinse it off with warm water.

  • Avocado paste : 1 cup
  • Neem oil : 2 teaspoons

Procedure:

  • Make the Avocado paste by peeling the Avocadoes and grinding them to a fine paste with enough water added to it.
  • Add the Neem oil to it and mix the two of them well so that the paste is uniform.
  • Apply this mixture over your scalp and the strands and leave it on for about  20 minutes.

Neem oil and Amla mask

Neem oil and Coconut milk

Ingredients needed:

  • Coconut milk  : One cup
  • Neem oil : one tablespoon

Procedure:

  • We extract coconut milk by grinding and straining the pulp of coconut.
  • Heat this milk so that the oil can get dissolved.
  • After it is hot enough, add the neem oil and continue heating so that an emulsion is formed with the two of them.
  • Apply this over your scalp and the strands and massage it gently for about half an hour.
  • Leave it on for about a half an hour before you rinse it off or shampoo.

Neem oil and Yogurt hair mask

Yogurt is one another mask ingredient that we try out for use with Neem oil. This can be a great mask as yogurt can fight fungi and dandruff on the hair effectively while also conditioning it.   • Yogurt : one cup
  • Neem oil : one table spoon

Procedure:

  • Take the yogurt and add pre-heated oil to it.
  • Mix them to uniformity and apply it all over your scalp and the hair strands.
  • Leave it on for about 20 minutes and rinse it off with warm water or with a shampoo.

Side Effects and precautions to be taken with Neem oil

Neem oil is a natural extract and seldom have side effects. However, we should be careful, especially if it if being used for the first time and these are some of the precautions we’d recommend.

  • Since it is strong, Neem oil can cause some itching or redness mildly for some people. If this happens with you, consult a dermatologist before you go ahead with the use.
  • You should get a patch test done else-where on the skin just in case you are particularly allergic to Neem oil or neem extracts.
  • There are some studies which show that Neem can effect fertility especially in men to a very mild extent. Since we do not ingest the oil, this property can be ignored, however, we consider that you keep this in mind, more so if you and your wife are planning on pregnancy.
  • For haircare, we do not recommend ingesting Neem oil. It works best when used externally.
